JOB DUTIES:
•Projects- job reclassifications
•Recommend classifications andsalary grades for new and revised positions. Requires research of availablemarket data or internal sources to create a new classification and gradeassignment.
•Provide guidance andconsultation to HR and managers on actual pay consideration; may be related tonew hire offers, job reclassification, internal development, equity, merit orother considerations. Requires knowledge and familiarity with structure, equityand compa-ratio analysis.
•Consult regarding creating orrevising position descriptions.
•Accurate review and timelyprocessing of requests requiring compensation approval or oversight, e.g., newpositions, reclassification requests, special pay changes, one-time payments,HRIS/Compensation Audits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’sdegree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalency inEducation/Experience/Training)
•2years of Compensation experience
•Knowledgeof HR principles and practices
•Knowledgeand experience with compensation programs/principle such as classifications,salary surveys, compensation structures, etc.
•Abilityto handle superior level of confidentiality concerning employee information.
•Intermediatelevel experience with Excel
•Abilityto manage small projects from concept to implementation. Can take a set ofrequirements to define and scope a project, develop a plan, implement the planand then bring closure to the project.
•Performancefactors:
•Attentionto detail and ability to complete multiple tasks within inflexible and rapidlychanging deadlines.
•Goodorganization, follow through and time management skills; ability to prioritize.
•Createquality working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization,using good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority.
•Communicationand contact: Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing withsuperiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside OHSU.
